Day 90 - Take time to be grateful

It was a busy day full of frustration. We've been having some difficulty with the service department for our vehicle. I won't go into details but basically they said they fixed a problem that they didn't and we had to take the car back multiple times. We weren't frustrated that they made a mistake but that they lied and tried to cover it up. We had a friend (man of course) step in and help out. For some reason people who deal with cars seem to respond better to men. The saga is not yet over but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
So, you're wondering why the flowers and and the title? Well, as we were walking this evening I was contemplating what I would put up here tonight. As I heard myself complaining about the car, I stopped and thought back to Susan's blog entry shortly after the tragedy in Haiti. It doesn't take long to get wrapped up in our own lives and forget how lucky we are. I realized that although the day might have been frustrating, I have soooo much to be grateful for. Metaphorically speaking, I took time to stop and smell the roses (or Hydrangea in this case) and change my perspective.

Nice post. Hope the car issues have been solved. Taking time to appreciate what is around us is always so important.

Glad you were able to "reframe" the situation, although I TOTALLY know what you mean regarding the way in which service (and sales) people deal with women vs. men. I have had the exact same situation occur twice. You have my empathy!

Always a good reminder.
