Day 19 - Does it bring tears to your eyes?

I seem to be in a bit of a photo funk. Having a hard time 'seeing' pictures in objects these days. Luckily for me Peg is always ready with ideas. She brought me this cut onion while making supper this evening. I think it might be a bit dark but I like the lines and the shades of caramel.
Now, it's time to ask for some feedback. As you've noticed I have a new signature for 2011. I like it because it's fun but I'm not sure if it's the best one for photos. Some viewers find that it detracts from the photos and draws their eye away from the subject. I've made it small and lighter in this pic but am not sure that's the solution. I'm open to ANY ideas or suggestions, including changing the font. Help, please.

Great composition - I like it!
Regarding your signature, I think the smaller version works better. In fact, I never even noticed it in this image at first.

Food always makes a good subject - and a photo of an onion never makes me cry.
I did find the signature was taking up too much space and, depending on the colour, sometimes too much eye space. The smaller one definitely works better - not sure I like the font. While it's fun - the signature should not overwhelm the image.

I like the photo of the onion, but I do find the signature distracting. it's a little too big and too busy.

I love the playfulness of your signature but I can see how it might take away from certain images, particularly if the image isn't similarly playful (e.g. the tree trunk texture shot). That said, it'd be a shame to change it completely. I'd continue playing around with the size and opacity. Or, you could try putting it in a branding bar on top/ bottom / side of the pic instead. Do you know what I mean? Check out Mcp actions if not - they have some examples there somewhere I think.

I sure understand about the photo funk. and I think it's easy for that to happen during the long winter months. You do a great job of finding interesting things indoors though and you're lucky to have Peg to help.

About your signature - I really think it should be about what YOU like, as should the photos you take. If you like it and it represents you, then why not keep it?
