Day 82 - Let it melt!

It was a sunny day here in Quebec. Some of our classes decided to head outside a bit early to get some fresh air and exercise. Students were walking, playing soccer, throwing the football around, climbing the Spiderweb and yes, you guessed it, watching the snow melt. This drain is in the middle of the asphalt in the backyard. All the melted snow ends up here. This area is a kid magnet. One of my students asked if she could take pictures so I handed her the camera and off she went. Jade took some good ones but I liked this one because it speaks so loudly of the anticipation for warmer days. It also has a timeless quality in that it could have been taken a year, five years or ten years ago. It might even conjure up a few memories for you.

Day 34 - Anticipation

While sitting at the dining room table this afternoon I noticed the icicles dripping just outside the door. I tried various settings and finally cheated and put my camera on the sport setting so I could capture the water dripping. I love the mixture of blue sky and white clouds and how they're reflected in the ice and droplets. I called this one anticipation because if you look at the picture you know that there will be more droplets falling.
