Day 283 - Happy Turkey Day

Celebrated Thanksgiving today at our friend Mike's. The above is our bird right after being taken off the BBQ. Kind of looks like it's been sunburned but it tasted delicious. Other than taste the other advantage of doing the turkey on the BBQ is that your whole house doesn't smell of cooked turkey. It was a fun evening full of good food, good friends and interesting conversation. I consider myself lucky to have so much to be thankful for and it's important to remember to take time to be grateful.

Day 204 - Summer is 'Corny'

Went to Lennoxville to visit family for the day. Got together for a BBQ supper. We had yummy burgers, hot dogs, salad and fresh local corn. Due to the hot summer harvests of all sorts are early this year. As in the olden days, child labour was recruited to do the shucking. They did a pretty good job and the corn was delicious. Of course the best part of the meal was spending time with family.

Day 174 - Painted Picnic Fun

One of the favourite activities at our annual Family Barbeque Picnic is the face painting. The kids line up and wait remarkably patiently for the last day of school to have their faces used as artistic canvases. The two girls who spend the day creating, donate their time and talent to benefit the school's fun-raising efforts. This young lady and her friend posed proudly for the photo shoot of the day.
