May 26th - Renovation Chaos

This is the scene Peg and I came home to today after school. Apparently, Pierre and his son had a very busy day. We expected the bathroom to look as it is but we didn't think they'd get to the kitchen as well. They're very efficient. We have no water upstairs. Thankfully, we do have a washroom downstairs. Our laundry basket is our new dishwasher. We load up the dirty dishes, take them downstairs, wash them in the bathroom sink, dry them and put them back in the basket to go upstairs. Our living room is filled with the cupboards. Thankfully, our electrician will be taking them tomorrow so we'll have more room. The microwave and toaster are in the spare bedroom and we've converted the armoire in that room into a temporary pantry. It's a bit inconvenient but we won't complain. We know it'll all be worth it. Also, when we hear about those people who are losing their homes due to flooding or fires, our inconvenience becomes rather insignificant.

We did a kitchen renovation a few years back. Seems like it takes forever when you do it yourself. Glad that you've got efficient help. Hang in there!

Sounds like you have it under control. Having lived through kitchen renovation a couple of years ago - I know the gymnastics involved in preparing food and cleaning up. You will really appreciate your kitchen when it is done!

You have a great attitude toward the chaos. At least you know you will have a kitchen to come home to in the near future. Are you at least having some BBQ weather?

I can't imagine the upheaval! My oven has been on the fritz for a couple weeks AND my fridge has a broken part preventing the crispers from sliding out AND I've a leak under my sink that the plumber can't seem to fix. These are little compared to what you're in the midst of so maybe I should stop whining while I'm waiting for appliance parts to arrive and plumbers to learn to troubleshoot better! ;-)

That really does look chaotic. I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end.
